COMP TAN GUIDE

HOW TO PREPARE

  • SKIN PREP:  Exfoliate your skin daily with Jan Tana Skin Prep to remove all dead skin cells.   Exfoliating provides a consistent, fresh top layer of skin, giving you a more even and tan. Pay special attention to dry areas such as knees, ankles, feet and elbows.
  • Moisturize daily.  Pay special care to dry areas such as knees, ankles, elbows and wrists. This will avoid the tan “sticking” to these areas and giving them a darker or orange look.  The more you moisturize the better.
  • SHAVE/WAX at least 24 hours before your tan to ensure that your pores close prior to your session.
  • REMOVE make-up, deodorants, perfumes and lotion before your tan as they form a barrier for absorption causing streaking and uneven tones.
  • AVOID showering/bath for at least 2 hours before your tan.
  • WEAR loose fitting dark closing to your session. The solution will rub off on your clothes, but it does not stain.
  • APPLY Jana Tana Green Away to pH balance your skin and prevent green patches. Particularly under the arms from deodorant use.

AFTER YOUR BASE TAN:

  • DO NOT shower, bathe or swim. The water will wash off your tan.
  • AVOID touching your skin and avoid physical contact.
  • AVOID sitting on leathers, light colored materials and soft furnishings.  Always cover fabric before sitting on them.
  • AVOID getting hot and sweaty. Stay cool and dry for 4-5 hours until you shower at night.  Plan to work-out prior to your tan.

AFTER YOUR COMP DAY TAN:

  • TIMING Plan your comp day prep early as you should not do a full work-out after your tan. Your tan will fully dry within 20 minutes and will withstand your back-stage pump-up.
  • APPLY Jan Tana HI-DEF GLAZE 20 minutes before your stage appearance.
  • DO NOTuse oils, pam cooking spray or any other products over your Jan Tana color. They may contain petroleum and will make your color run!
